About
The Cabinet is responsible for making key decisions and recommendations to the Council regarding the provision of local services. It monitors the Council budget, makes day-to-day decisions on resources, and forms partnerships with other organisations. The Cabinet, composed of seven councillors including the Leader and Deputy Leader(s), holds collective responsibility for its decisions. Individual members oversee specific service groups (portfolios) aligned with the Council's strategic objectives, sometimes sharing responsibility with officers. The Cabinet reflects the Council's political leadership.
