About

The Strategic Overview and Scrutiny Committee examines the Council's decisions and actions, and can propose new policies. It considers matters affecting the local area and its residents, and has the power to request that the Cabinet or other committees reconsider decisions before they are implemented.

The committee makes reports and recommendations to the full Council, Cabinet, or other committees. It also follows up on previous recommendations and considers petitions and initiatives raised by its members or through 'call-for-action' procedures.
