Salford City Council - Record of Decision
Title: Acquisition of Strategic Asset - Walkden
 
I, Paul Dennett, City Mayor, in exercise of
the powers contained within the City Council’s constitution
do hereby;
 

Approve the acquisition of a
strategic asset in Walkden

 

Authorise external solicitors to
complete all necessary documentation and to take all steps which
are required to give effect to the above recommendations.

 
 
The Reasons:          
 
The acquisition of the subject property would
provide Children’s Services with a Council-owned asset that
can be internally managed to provide support and care for children
and young people across Salford.
 
The acquisition of the property will increase
Children’s Services’ capacity to offer internal support
and care for children and young people, and it will subsequently
ease the financial pressure of having to utilise external
services.
 
Options considered and rejected were: none

Source of funding: the acquisition of the property is being funded by
monies allocated within the Capital Budget.
