I, Councillor Tracy Kelly,
Statutory Deputy City Mayor and Lead Member for Housing &
Anti-poverty, in exercise of the powers contained within the
Council Constitution, do hereby:

Note the amendments to the
allocations policy 2025 to include changes in statutory guidance
for access to social housing. The changes are to the local
connection rules for care leavers and household’s fleeing
domestic abuse.
 
The Reasons
are:
In April 2025, City Mayor (in
consultation with Cabinet) approved Salford’s Allocations
Policy 2025 -2028.
The report provides an update
to Lead Member on changes made to the Allocation’s Policy
following an update to statutory guidance on access to social
housing, specifically the local connection rules for care leavers
and households fleeing domestic abuse. 
 
Options considered and
rejected were: N/A – statutory
requirement.
