Salford City Council - Record of Decision

Title: Level of Charges Paid by Applicants for Highway Orders and Procedures

I Councillor Jack Youd, Deputy City Mayor and Lead Member for Finance, Corporate Services and Regeneration in exercise of the powers contained within the City Council Constitution do hereby:

  1. Approve the charges set out in the Schedule hereto to be paid by Applicants in connection with the making of Public Path Orders and section 116 Stopping Up Orders.
  1. Approve the introduction of the charges set out in the Schedule hereto to be paid by Applicants in connection with procedures under section 31(6) of the Highways Act.
  1. Approve the guidance on making charges for the above Orders and procedures as set out in the Schedule hereto.

Approve that the charges authorised by this Report shall be increased annually at the of rate inflation based on the Retail Price Index without the need for further Delegated Approval. The first review being 1st April 2027.

The Reasons:          

The proposed increases will ensure the charges made by the Council are in line with officer time / costs, and  inflation, and so the costs incurred are not being met. 

Assessment of Risk is LOW 

The source of funding: N/A The objective of making these charges is to ensure that the Council’s costs are being met in making these and therefore self-financing.
