Brownfield Land
Release Funding from Department for Levelling Up, Housing and
Communities was secured for £3m to support site viability and
a Grant Funding Agreement was entered into by the Council on 1
August 2023.
The funding is for
infrastructure and remediation works and for the purposes of
delivering the project. In order to comply with grant funding
conditions, works contracts for funded activity must be signed by
31 March 2024 and evidenced by 12 April 2024.
Assessment of Risk: High, should the scheme not
proceed or is delayed it will significantly delay the next phases
of Affordable Housing for the City, a key priority. It will also
impact ongoing funding bids to support viability of schemes
including Brownfield Land Release Fund.
The source of funding
is:
Brownfield Land Release Funding from Department for Levelling Up,
Housing and Communities and Place Capital Programme; Housing
Delivery Development.
