I
Councillor John Merry, Deputy City Mayor, in exercise of the powers
contained within the City Council constitution do hereby:
 

1.   
 Approve the acquisition
of 17 Swanage Road, Eccles, M30 9JN on the provisionally agreed
terms. The acquisition will be funded by the Regulatory Service
Team’s property acquisition CPO enforcement
fund.
 

2.   
Authorise the Shared Legal Service to progress and
complete the associated legal formalities and the taking of all
steps required to give effect to the above
recommendation.

 
 
The Reasons are the
Salford City Council’s
Regulatory Services Team (RST) had identified the 17 Swanage Road,
Eccles as being a long-term empty property which was causing a
blight to the area. Consequently, Property Services had been
commissioned to undertake an inspection and provide a market
valuation to negotiate acquiring the property by agreement in
anticipation of a potential Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO). Terms
had now been agreed for the Council to acquire the property which
the above approvals will allow.
