Salford City Council - Record of
Decision
I
Councillor Tracy Kelly, Deputy City Mayor, in exercise of the
powers contained within the City Council constitution do hereby:
1.
Approve the disposal of Land at Trinity Way,
Greengate, off Bury St (Plot A)
to Trinity 2 Ltd on the provisionally agreed
terms.
2.
As part of the consideration of the disposal,
approve the acquisition by Salford City Council of Land at Trinity
Way, Greengate, off Queen St (Plot B) on the provisionally agreed
terms.
3.
Note the outcome of the advertising of the intention
to dispose of an area of public open space under Section 123(1),
(2a) of the Local Government Act 1972.
4.
Authorise the Shared Legal Service to prepare all
necessary documentation and to take all steps which are required to
give effect to the above recommendations.
The Reasons are the
proposals for the Council to dispose
of land located at Trinity Way, Blackfriars and Trinity (Plot A),
will facilitate a residential development at the site important for
the regeneration of the Chapel Wharf area, while the acquisition of
the land at Trinity
Way, Greengate, off Queen St (Plot B) will be of strategic
benefit, as the Council owns adjacent land which
together could potentially unlock future development, supporting
Salford City Council’s Greengate regeneration
strategy.
