Reasons are:
Exception to the Corporate Standing Orders for
reasons of best value. The purchase will support the introduction
of new types of electric vehicles to Salford City Council’s
fleet.
 
Options considered and rejected were:
The purchase of a diesel
powered vehicle of same model was rejected in favour of an electric
version, in support of fleet electrification and decarbonisation
and commitment for Salford and GM to become zero carbon by
2038.
 
Assessment of Risk:
Low risk – vehicle is
replacing an existing fleet vehicle.
 
The
source of funding is:
2024/25 Place Capital and
Invest to Save Budget for Fleet Replacement.
