About
The Education, Children and Families Policy Committee is responsible for overseeing policies and services related to education and the welfare of children and families in Sheffield. This includes ensuring sufficient school places, managing mainstream and specialist education, and addressing special educational needs. The committee also covers children's social care, fostering, adoption, and safeguarding, as well as early childhood services and youth justice. Its remit is to review, scrutinise, and make recommendations on these vital areas, impacting children, young people, and families across the city.
