CPH Children and Education Decision Session

Functions in relation to Childrens Services Statutory Designated Lead Member for Children's Services Lead member for oversight of the Children’s Services Improvement Plan, working with the Children’s Commissioner. Early Help and prevention for children and families. Strategic and individual commissioning for education and children’s social care. Discharge of statutory functions under all relevant children’s social care legislation including:  • Children’s safeguarding  • Children Looked After/Care Leavers • Children with disabilities  • Adoption and Fostering Strategic oversight of education, including the delivery of:  • School improvement/access and place planning  • School funding • Special educational needs • Championing vulnerable children and attendance • Early years and information, advice and guidance  • Home to school transport and free school meals  • Schools Forum, Governor services and Virtual School for Children Looked After  Lead member for Corporate Parenting
