Scrutiny Committee - Children and Families (was operational until 18/5/2026)

The Scrutiny Committee - Children and Families is responsible for reviewing and challenging decisions and policies made by Somerset Council's Executive concerning children and young people. It examines areas such as school facilities, education, training, skills, and the health and safeguarding of children. The committee also scrutinises services for vulnerable children, adoption and fostering, special educational needs, and early years provision. Its role is to provide oversight and recommendations, ensuring services meet the needs of children and families across Somerset.
