The Corporate Parenting Committee is responsible for improving the life chances of children looked after by Southwark Council. It develops and monitors strategies to maximise their health, educational attainment, and access to training and employment, aiding their transition to adulthood. The committee recommends integrated services across council departments, schools, and the voluntary sector, and ensures children's views are sought and acted upon in service planning. It reviews performance data, receives reports on adoption and fostering services, and makes recommendations to the council's executive and the scrutiny sub-committee for children's services.
