The Cheadle Area Committee represents the wards of Cheadle East & Cheadle Hulme North, Cheadle West & Gatley, and Heald Green. It has powers to consider and determine certain planning applications, with the ability for councillors to call up applications typically handled by planning officers. Members of the public can ask questions on matters within the committee's powers (excluding legal or confidential issues) and address the committee for three minutes on planning applications, either in support or objection.
