About
The Council operates a single Planning Committee covering the entire District. This Committee exercises the Council’s powers and duties relating to development control. The Planning Committee is responsible for making decisions on planning applications that have a significant impact on the District. It ensures that proposals for development are consistent with national and local planning policies, while also taking into account the views of residents, stakeholders, and statutory consultees. The Planning Committee are committed to encouraging public involvement in the planning process. Members of the public, applicants, and Town/Parish Councils who have submitted comments on an application will be notified if that application is included on a Committee agenda. They will also be informed of their right to speak at the meeting. Anyone wishing to speak at a Planning Committee meeting must register by 2.00 p.m. on the last working day before the meeting. If any registered speaker intends to display any supporting information during their speaking time, it must be submitted by 2.00 p.m. two working days before the meeting.
Public Involvement in Planning Committee Meetings of the Planning Committee are recorded and can be found on the Stratford-on-Avon District Councils YouTube channel.
