Purpose

Guildford Fire Station has been identified
with an end-of-life heating system, eligible for replacement with
the aid of grant funding. These works are to undertake replacement
of the gas heating with electric heat pumps, and to add other
energy efficiency measures including solar thermal unit for hot
water generation and solar photovoltaic.
 
These works are to be carried out under the
SCC Minor Capital Works Programme objectives.

Content

Having completed a competitive tender
exercise, it is recommended that the Contract for the Works be
awarded to MKG Building Services Ltd at a value of
£703,445.02 as per the attached Procurement Report.

To replace end of life heating systems and improve energy
efficiency whilst grant funding is available.

To significantly reduce carbon emissions from this site in line
with the Council’s strategic priority
