Purpose
Surrey currently operates an enterprise backup and recovery platform based on Commvault technology, deployed across its data centre estate to protect critical infrastructure, systems and data. The platform underpins the resilience of a wide range of business- critical services, including virtualised workloads, databases, file services, and core corporate systems. Reliable backup and recovery capability is essential to maintaining service continuity, protecting sensitive information and meeting operational, security and regulatory obligations.
The existing Commvault platform has been in service for 5 years and is approaching the end of the current contract. In addition, the hardware has reached end of life status, and a refresh is required to address a combination of hardware lifecycle, capacity growth and evolving cyber security threats. To ensure continued alignment with business needs and security standards, Surrey is seeking to modernise and strengthen its cyber resilience capabilities through this procurement. Surrey is looking to update the existing technology platform to minimise disruption to our services and enable us to leverage existing skill within the operational team.
Following a compliant further competition conducted under the Software Products and Associate Services Framework (Y23065) in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, the Enterprise team would like to award the contract to Kingfield Computer Products Limited, having submitted the solution that meets Surrey’s technical, operational and commercial requirements.
