Decision

To formally adopt the updated Climate Action Plan 2024-27, including its recommended actions and milestone review points.

The updated Plan was agreed in Cabinet (15th November 2024), and furthermore recommended to Full Council on 26th November 2024 with specific regard to the moving of the target date to 2050 to align with national initiatives (minute no. 72 refers).

Reasons for the decision

Adopting the updated Plan will formally allow work on its actions and milestones to begin; it will become part of TDC’s overall Policies.

The Plan has been approved at Cabinet and Full Council.

Alternative options considered

With the updated Plan for 2024/-27 approved by Cabinet and Full Council, no further alternative options have been considered at this stage other than for TDC to formally adopt the Plan.

At other stages in the governance process, input and comments have been accepted from Officers and Councillors, and amendments made in response, to the details of the Plan itself.
