Decision

To appoint, for the period until May 2027, the Portfolio Holder for the Environment & ICT (Councillor Adrian Smith) to:-

(1)     the Essex Flood Partnership Board;

(2)     the Hamford Water Management Committee; and

(3)     the Naze Management Board.

Reasons for the decision

To have appropriate representation on the outside bodies referred to and to support the Council taking forward its priorities and to receive information to ensure the outside bodies concerned have formal mechanisms to support collaboration with the Council.

Alternative options considered

To not make the appointments – this was discounted in view of the benefit to the Council, the organisations concerned and the wider community derived from the appointments.
