Decision

To authorise:-
(a)the land situated at High Street, Dovercourt, Harwich, shown coloured yellow on the plan numbered 60498-C-0072 Rev A (Appendix A to the report) for dedication for the purpose of widening of the highway and pursuant to Section 72 of the Highways Act 1980; and
(b)that the Deed of Dedication as set out in Appendix B to the report, be entered into.

Reasons for the decision

To appropriately dedicate the area as public highway and to secure its adoption by the Highway Authority.

Alternative options considered

Not dedicating the land as highway and not securing its adoption – not proposed – The strip is clearly now part of the footway and dedication is appropriate. Adoption will ensure that the area is inspected and maintained as part of the highway.
