sets out the reasons to repair Brooklands in Jaywick Sands.
It is noted that this decision is to provide short term patch repairs in advance of a decision as set out in recommendation d) on p219 of the Cabinet report related to the longer-term substantial repairs to the road.
The patch repairs will support the continued use of the road for residents travelling by car and as a bus route; the bus has stopped on a number of occasions due to poor road condition.
The exact costs will depend on the meterage required.

Decision

To award the contract for temporary road improvements to Brooklands in Jaywick Sands to Groupbridge with funding allocated from Capital Regeneration Partnership Budget “Ten_09 Jaywick Sands Public Open Space” to complete the works, at a cost of £161.65 M2, up to a maximum of £10,000.

Alternative options considered

These first repairs are of a short term nature and are not expected to have an impact in relation to Local Government Reorganisation.
