About

The Overview and Scrutiny Committee examines and reviews the activities of the council and other organisations to improve services and outcomes for the residents of Tunbridge Wells.

It can establish task and finish groups to conduct in-depth analysis of policy issues, undertake research, and consult with the community. The committee scrutinises council decisions and actions, and can call-in Cabinet decisions for reconsideration before they are implemented. It also acts as the local Crime and Disorder Committee and nominates representatives to county-level health scrutiny bodies, making recommendations to the Council, Cabinet, and other public bodies.
