Purpose

It is
proposed to grant a lease to the current Operator of the
Café in the Amelia Scott Centre. 
This will benefit the landlord by extending the period of
occupation under the current agreement and increase the base
rent.

Decision

RESOLVED –

 

That Cabinet approves the grant of the lease as
referred to in this report and the Appendices.

 

That delegated authority is granted to the Head of
Economic Development and Property in consultation with the Director
of Finance, Policy and Development, the Monitoring Officer and the
Cabinet Member for Finance and Property to negotiate and agree the
terms of the transaction.

 

That the Head of Mid Kent Legal Services is
authorised to negotiate and complete all necessary and ancillary
legal documentation and formalities to give effect to these
recommendations.

 

REASON FOR DECISION:  The proposed lease offers
a guaranteed rental income and a longer term occupation than
currently exists.
