Purpose

The report seeks approval to allocate and release £31,697.41 of S106 planning obligation funding to Pembury Parish Council towards the supply and installation of a climbing frame at Lower Green Recreation Ground in Pembury.

Decision

RESOLVED – That the Children’s Playspace contribution totalling £31,697.41, collected in 2021 pursuant to the planning agreement in respect of planning permission 17/00756, Land at Sturgeons, Henwood Green Road be released to Pembury Parish Council for use towards the supply and installation of a climbing frame for older children at Lower Green Recreation Ground in Pembury be approved.

Reasons for the decision

To agree, allocate and release the funding through the use of developer contributions collected for that purpose would meet the terms of the agreement and support Pembury Parish Council in delivering the project.

Alternative options considered

Do nothing and reject the request to release the funding would risk having to return the sum plus accrued interest to the developer.
