Purpose

Draft
Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy 2026-31.  The Strategy is a key document outlining our plan
to prevent and reduce homelessness and rough sleeping in the
borough.

Decision

RESOLVED –

 

1.    
That the draft Homelessness and Rough Sleeping
Strategy 2026-31 be approved for consultation.
 

2.    
That delegation to the Head of Housing, Health and
Environment, in consultation with

the Cabinet Member for Housing and Communities, to
make any minor amendments to the Strategy arising from an
eight-week period of consultation of the draft Strategy be
approved.
 

3.    
That the adoption of the Strategy for the five-year
period commencing from 1 April 2026 be approved.
 
REASON FOR DECISION: To
comply with the Homelessness Act 2002, the Government’s
Ending Rough Sleeping for Good Strategy and that priorities are in
place for the next 5 years.
