Purpose

The
Council’s three leisure centres at St John’s in
Tunbridge Wells, Putlands in Paddock Wood and The Weald in
Cranbrook, are currently operated under a management contract with
Fusion Lifestyle.  The contract ends in
March 2027 and this report will set out the options for the route
to recommission the services from April 2027.

RESOLVED – That the recommendations set out in the Exempt report and Exempt
Appendix A and associated exempt 
appendices be approved

 
 
REASON FOR DECISION: To
comply with the Council’s Strategic Plan to work with the
leisure service provider to modernise and improve the
borough’s 3 leisure centres. 

 

CALL-IN AND URGENCY
In
accordance with the provisions of Overview and Scrutiny Procedure
Rule 14 in Part 4 of the Constitution, the Chairman of Overview and
Scrutiny gave prior agreement that this decision was urgent and
would not be subject to call-in as delay would seriously prejudice
the Council’s or public interest
