Purpose
To
continue to provide services and support for the benefit of the
borough.
Decision
RESOLVED
–
That
the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) receive a Community Grant of
£100,000, Tunbridge Wells International Music Festival,
“Unfest” and “Local
and Live” receive grants for £1,650 for 2026/27 and
2027/28 be approved.
That
the Council will withhold the grant should the required
documentation to prove Best Value not be received, be
approved..
That
it be delegated to the Head of Finance, Procurement and Parking in
consultation with the Head of the Legal Partnership, to negotiate
and complete all necessary agreements, deeds and documents arising
from this decision, be approved.
Reasons for the decision
To
support organisations providing key services with synergies
aligning to the Council’s objectives
Alternative options considered
Increase the allocations from the draft budget. This
would be an additional pressure on the 2026/27 and 2027/28 budgets
and add to the current deficit.
Do nothing and remove the community grants budgets
in their entirety or reduce them. This would not reflect the
Council’s desire to support voluntary and community groups
throughout the borough.
