Purpose

The
Council is considering providing £100,000 of Community Grants
in January 2024, to local charities providing cost of living
support to residents of the Borough.

Decision

RESOLVED –

 
1.  That the creation of a Community
Support Fund to the value of £100,000 for 2023/24 to be
funded from the revenue budget be approved.
 
2. That
the fund be allocated to charities based in the Borough, to deliver
assistance to residents of the Borough, with the express purpose of
supporting them through the cost-of-living crisis be
approved.
 
3. That
delegated authority for the allocation of the funding be given to
the Community Grants panel, following an application process be
approved.

 
REASON FOR DECISION: To
enable the Council to provide support to vulnerable residents of
the Borough.
