Purpose

It is proposed to sell the house known as Cemetery Lodge on Benhall Mill Road as it is now vacant and surplus to the Council’s requirements.  It has been marketed and an acceptable offer received.  A report will be submitted for Cabinet approval in due course.

Decision

 RESOLVED –

  1. That the disposal of the asset referred to in this report and the Appendices be approved.
  2. That delegated authority is granted to the Head of Property and Estates in consultation with the Director of Finance, Policy and Development, the Monitoring Officer and the Cabinet Member for Finance and Property to negotiate and agree the terms of the disposal be approved.
  3. That the Head of Mid Kent Legal Services is authorised to negotiate and complete all necessary and ancillary legal documentation and formalities to give effect to these recommendations and the disposal of the property be approved.

REASON FOR DECISION:   To provide the Council with a substantial capital receipt to invest in the council’s capital projects.
