Purpose

 This report will set out the proposed updates to the Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) and the outcomes of the public consultation on these.

Decision

 RESOLVED –

1. That the Draft Statement of Community Involvement (dated October 2026) attached at Appendix A to be used for engagement purposes relating to planning matters be approved.
2. That the Head of Planning in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for Planning be authorised to make any essential editorial, presentational and other non-material changes to the Draft Statement of Community Involvement 2026, prior to its online publication.

REASON FOR DECISION:

To ensure effective community involvement at all stages of the planning process, and to ensure the community know how and when they can engage with the planning process, within the framework of the new version of the NPPF ( National Planning Policy Framework)  which was published on 17 August 2026.
