Purpose

The Planning Service has reviewed and updated the Planning Validation Checklist that relates to validation requirements for planning applications.  The updated checklist has been out to public consultation and following this the report will seek to proceed to the next stage of adopting the list.   

Decision

 RESOLVED –

1. That the Draft Tunbridge Wells Local Validation List be adopted and used in the validation and processing of planning applications be approved.
2. That the Head of Planning, in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for Planning, be authorised to make any essential editorial, presentational and other non-material changes to the Draft Local Validation List 2026, prior to its online publication be approved

REASON FOR DECISION:   To comply with the national requirements in keeping the Local Validation List up to date and increasing efficiency in validating and assessing planning applications going forward.
