Purpose

This report seeks approval to allocate and release £306,554.00 of S106 planning obligation funding to Paddock Wood Town Council towards the Town Council’s project of remediation of an existing rugby pitch and the creation of an additional pitch. 

Decision

RESOLVED - That £306,554.00, being part of the planning obligation contribution collected for use towards the improvements of Green Lane playing fields pursuant to the terms of a planning agreement in respect of planning permission 14/506766 Mascalls Court Farm, allocated and released to Paddock Wood Town Council to deliver the remediation of an existing rugby pitch and the creation of an additional pitch at Green Lane Paddock Wood, be approved.

Reasons for the decision

The recommended option is to agree to allocate and release the funding of £306,554.00 to Paddock Wood Town Council through the use of developer contributions collected for that purpose.

Alternative options considered

1.      Do nothing and reject the request to release the funding, risk having to return the S106 sum plus accrued interest to the developer.

2.      Agree the project meets the terms of the agreement and support Paddock Wood Town Council in their delivery the project.
