Purpose

This report seeks Cabinet Member approval to allocate and release £1,219.86 of S106 planning obligation funding towards the refurbishments to Matfield pavilion. The contribution will fund the purchase and installation of shelving towards the storage of cricket equipment to help the airflow in the changing rooms.

Decision

RESOLVED - That £1,219.86 of Section 106 planning obligation funding, collected pursuant to the planning agreement in respect of planning permission 19/01099 Plot 29 12 Maidstone Road, be released and allocated to Brenchley and Matfield Parish Council for use towards refurbishments in Matfield pavilion.

Reasons for the decision

The recommended option is to agree to allocate and release the funding of £1,219.86 using developer contributions collected for that purpose. The release of the funding can be completed as Tunbridge Wells Borough Council holds the funds.

Alternative options considered

1.      Do nothing and reject the request to release the funding. The agreement for Plot 29 12 Maidstone Road expires June 2034.

2.      Agree the project meets the terms of the agreement and support Brenchley and Matfield Parish Council in delivering the project.
