Purpose

The report sets out TWBC comments in response to the Regulation 19 public consultation.

Decision

RESOLVED –

1. That the current consultation on Sevenoaks District Council’s Local Plan 2042 Regulation 19 Consultation be noted.
2. That the responses/comments set out in the table of TWBC officer comments presented at Appendix A of this Report be submitted, on or before the 17 September 2026, as Tunbridge Wells Borough Council’s representations to Sevenoaks District Council’s Local Plan 2042 Regulation 19 consultation be approved. 

Reasons for the decision

To agree to submit the representations is favourable as it is considered to represent a corporate view having been considered by officers and Members. 

Alternative options considered

Do nothing – take no action and submit no representations to the consultation.  This would result in the Council missing out on an important opportunity to engage, input and advise on the Sevenoaks District Council Local Plan Regulation 19. 

Submit an alternative set of responses – this option would require further discussion with and consideration by officers and/or Councillors to inform the response.  This would likely mean the consultation deadline will not be met.
