Purpose

The report relates to the planning application 15/505340/OUT Land at Bassetts Farm, Horsmonden. The Local Interpretation Material contribution (£5,296.08) was received in June 2026 and is towards the provision of wayfinding and interpretation panels for the former Paddock Wood to Hawkhurst railway line in Horsmonden.

Decision

RESOLVED – That the S106 developer contribution known as the Local Interpretation Material contribution collected pursuant to the planning obligation agreement completed in respect of the grant of planning permission 15/505340/OUT Land at Bassetts Farm, Horsmonden dated 15.12.2016 totalling £5,296.08 to Hop Pickers Line Heritage Group for the Bassetts Farm (The Paddocks) History Interpretation Panels project, be approved.

Reasons for the decision

The preferred option is Option 2.2, Agree the scheme supplied by HPLHG for Bassetts Farm Heritage Interpretation Panels 

Alternative options considered

Option 1: Do nothing - the money will have to be repaid to the developer and consequently, no heritage interpretation panels will be installed at Horsmonden.

Option 2: Agree the scheme supplied by HPLHG that accords with the contribution purpose.
