Purpose

The
report considers an application to the Affordable Housing Fund from
Town and Country for funding to assist with the delivery of
affordable housing permitted at Land at Downs Farm, Lamberhurst
under the full planning permission 22/01822/FULL.  The scheme is a 10 unit Section 106 affordable
housing scheme, which forms part of a wider development of 26 units
total.  The agreement requires 4 of the
units to be shared ownership and 6 to be for social
rent.

Decision

RESOLVED –

 

That the affordable housing grant agreement with
Town & Country Housing for £248,000 awarded to the now
cancelled affordable housing project at the site on Homeward Road,
Langton Green (Ref: 12/02547) be rescinded be approved.

 

That the request from Town & Country Housing to
reallocate the funding in recommendation 1 towards the scheme to
acquire 10 affordable homes at Land At Down Farm, Lamberhurst be
approved.

 

That Town & Country Housing’s application
for a further funding of £250,000 (as detailed in the
Affordable Housing Fund application form) to support the
acquisition cost of the 10 affordable homes by Town & Country
Housing at Land at Down Farm, Lamberhurst, with the funding being
released from the affordable housing commuted sums collected from
the Union House, Eridge Road (ref 16/504331) be
approved. 

 

That the Head of Housing, Health and Environment, in
consultation with the Head of the Legal Partnership be delegated
authority to enter into a grant agreement and all associated legal
documentation with Town & Country Housing, required for the
£498,000 subsidy to Town & Country Housing for the
acquisition for the affordable housing acquisition at Land at Down
Farm, Lamberhurst be approved.
