Purpose

The
Temporary Accommodation Policy sets out the council’s
approach to the provision and procurement of temporary
accommodation placements, both in and out of the borough,
including:

placement and prioritising households

Refusals of TA and discharge of duty

Charing for TA

Pets in TA

-       
TA procurement
 

Decision

RESOLVED –

 

That the adoption of the Temporary Accommodation
Policy at Appendix A be approved.

 

That the head of Housing, Health and Environment in
consultation with the Cabinet Member for Housing and Communities be
delegated to make any minor changes to the Temporary Accommodation
Policy as may be requested be approved.

 
REASON FOR DECISION: To
comply with current legislation that requires the Council to have a
policy for procuring sufficient units of Temporary Accommodation to
meet demand and to allocate those units to individual homeless
households.
