The Audit and Governance Committee provides independent assurance on the Council's corporate governance, financial management, and risk management procedures. It ensures compliance with the Council's Constitution and promotes high standards of conduct for members.

This advisory committee reviews and recommends changes to procedures and processes to minimise risks and maintain effective governance. It has delegated authority to approve the Council's accounts, capital outturn, and annual governance statement, and oversees financial reporting and auditing.
