About

The Communities and Public Protection Scrutiny Committee examines and reviews the council's work on community safety, crime and disorder, community cohesion, and anti-social behaviour. It also scrutinises areas such as violence against women and girls, enforcement activities, environmental health, trading standards, and property licensing.

As a scrutiny committee, it does not make executive decisions but instead provides oversight and makes recommendations to the council's executive body. Its aim is to improve services and policies that affect residents' safety and well-being within Waltham Forest.
