To stop monitoring the delivery
of the Housing Strategy. While every local authority must formulate
a Homelessness Strategy, it is not compulsory to have a wider
housing strategy. This option is not recommended, as it would
encourage a “business as usual” approach to housing,
while the widening of the housing crisis requires a renewed
commitment to tackle the challenge. Monitoring helps ensure
continued focus on strategic outcomes and maintains accountability
for these outcomes.
