Purpose

Shareholder Committee is
recommended to note the Annual Report and Accounts for 2022/23 for
the More Homes Waltham Forest joint venture limited liability
partnership (LLP) with Mears PLC that has procured and is providing
330 settled homes for rent for homeless households who would
otherwise be placed in temporary accommodation

Shareholder Committee:
1)             
note the updated govenance arrangements for the More
Homes Waltham Forest joint venture attached as Appendix
1;

 
2)             
note the More Homes Waltham Forest Annual Report and Financial
Statements 2022/23 as approved by the JV Board but subject to
auditor sign off attached as Appendix 2; and

3)             
note the delay in setting up the second joint
venture with Mears, provisionally called More Homes 2 as detailed
in paragraphs 3.22 – 3.24, which was previously approved by
Cabinet in June 2021 and September 2022.
 

OPTIONS AND ALTERNATIVES CONSIDERED

 

There are no options or alternatives considered for
the purpose of this More Homes Waltham Forest joint venture scheme
specific update report.

 
Alternatives to the second More Homes joint venture have been
considered but the Council has not been able to secure a
financially viable alternative due to current market
conditions.
