Purpose
The Annual Education Sufficiency Update was
presented at 11 December 2025 Cabinet. Subsequent to that decision,
a call in was received. This report covers recommendations put
forward from the 6 January 2026 Children and Young Overview and
Scrutiny Committee where the item was debated
Decision
Resolved
That Cabinet approves the following
recommendations made by the Children and Young People’s
Overview and Scrutiny Committee on 6 January 2026:
1.
The production of sensitivity analysis data on forecasts at a local
level;
2.
The organisation of District and Borough Area sufficiency workshops
for elected Members;
3.
The re-evaluation of the planning areas, in
particular at secondary school level; and
4.
Authorises the Executive Director for Children and Young People to
implement them.
