Purpose

A report to full Council updating on the
progress and activities of the re-established Climate Emergency
Cross-Party Group as agreed at the meeting of full Council on 22
July 2025.

Decision

That Council:
 
1.             
Endorses the report of the Climate Emergency Cross-Party Working
Group and agrees that the recommendations across the three focus
areas of Natural Capital and Biodiversity, Waste and Recycling, and
Economy, as set out in the report, be submitted to Cabinet for
consideration.
 
2.             
Endorses the next steps set out in the report prior to the Climate
Emergency Cross-Party Working Group providing an update to full
Council at its meeting on 15 December 2026.
