Purpose

Following on from the previous pre-devolution adult skills paper, our new paper sets out the proposed allocations of approved funding and will seek approval to accept a range of new devolved funding opportunities which are presenting to the council.

That Cabinet

1)    Approves the Commissioning and Funding Plan contained in Appendix 1 to the report, which sets out proposals for utilising the skills funding received by the Council as part of the ongoing devolution deal (as set out in paragraph 2.1) in line with the Council’s approved Employment & Skills Strategy (Appendix 2 to the report); and

2)    Approves the allocation of grant funding, and authorises the Executive Director for Communities to undertake all necessary procurement activity for provision of activity, in line with the Commissioning and Funding Plan (Appendix 1 to the report) and to enter into such agreement(s) as he considers necessary on terms of conditions acceptable to the Executive Director for Resources.
