Purpose

Approval to enter into works contract for the
demolition and build of the first phase development.

Content

RESOLVED that:
 

1.   
Subject to the amendment of the report to Council to include the
additional information requested by the Overview and Scrutiny
Committee and the inclusion of ‘Option 6’ to delay the
Council’s decision until its meeting in December, The content
of the report be endorsed by the Executive and it be recommended to
Council at its meeting on 22nd October 2025:
a.   
That full Council approves the required additional budget of
£540,000 to progress the project at 69 High Street,
Godalming, to be funded from the Revenue Account Reserve (General
Fund working balance).
 
2.   
That, strictly subject to full Council approving the required
additional budget, the Executive resolves to:
a.   
Approve the appointment of ETEC Group Limited as contractor to
complete all works associated with the demolition of the building
at 69 High Street, Godalming and its refurbishment for the
commercial unit only.
b.   
Delegates to the Strategic Director of Economy, Planning and Place
the authority to enter into the contract with ETEC Group Limited,
together with such other contracts and legal agreements connected
with the 69 High Street project as may be necessary, in compliance
with Procurement Procedure Rules, the Council’s Constitution
and within the approved budget (as revised under recommendation
2.1.1 of the report).
