RESOLVED: Cabinet approved the adoption and implementation of the West Northamptonshire Youth Strategy.

REASONS RESOLVED: The recommended course of action aligns with national and local strategic priorities, supports transformation outcomes, and enables earlier, joined-up support for young people. It is an effective way to deliver improved outcomes and reduce demand for statutory services.

ALTERNATIVE OPTIONS: Having a Youth Strategy ensures that support for young people is planned and coordinated. It will enable the Council and partners to target resources where they will have the greatest impact, reduce inequalities between communities, and support the strengthening of partnerships with schools, health services, the voluntary and community sector and families.  The strategy embeds youth voice and coproduction, which supports in ensuring that services are shaped by young people themselves and remain relevant to their lived experiences.
