RESOLVED:

Delegate authority to the Chief Executive to enter into associated grant agreements with the other South Midlands constituent authori-ties to facilitate the distribution of South Mid-lands reserves – circa £4.5 million of South Midlands non ringfenced funding.

This decision was endorsed at the South Mid-lands Authorities Board at the March 2026 meeting, where Cllr Arnull was in attendance and agreement.

REASONS RESOLVED:

Options were provided to the South Midlands Authorities (namely Bedford Borough Council, Central Bedfordshire Council, Luton Borough Council, Milton Keynes City Council, North Northamptonshire Council and West Northamptonshire council regarding approximately £4.5M of un-ringfenced reserves. The unanimous preferred option was to distribute the c. £4.5M of reserves in equal portions to the six authorities in line with the original grant funding conditions for the funding.
