Purpose

The Cabinet will be asked to consider and
approve, subject to planning consent, funding for the installation
of solar photo voltaic canopies at Mildenhall Hub located in the
main visitors’ car park.

That:
1.          
Subject to the receipt of planning consent, the
installation of solar canopies at the Mildenhall Hub car park,
which supports West Suffolk Council’s strategic priority of
environmental resilience and aligns with the authority’s net
zero carbon emissions goals while also providing economic benefits,
be approved.
 
2.          
A capital budget of up to £1,300,000 be
allocated to the project from the Council’s existing Net Zero
Fund, which will generate an estimated 553,050kWh and save around
£152,000 and 125tCO2 per annum.
