Purpose

The Cabinet will be asked to consider the
pre-consultation draft of the Suffolk Local Nature Recovery
Strategy (LNRS), which is being co-ordinated by Suffolk County
Council in partnership with Suffolk district councils and other
partners. Following further consultation on the amended draft, the
LNRS is expected to be presented to Cabinet for adoption later in
2025.

Resolved:
 
That:
1.       the draft Local
Nature Recovery Strategy (Appendix 1 to Report number:
CAB/WS/25/009), be approved, without changes, which will enable
Suffolk County Council to commence consultation.
 
2.       Delegated authority
be given to the Head of Service (Planning), in consultation with
the Portfolio Holder for Governance and Regulatory, to agree minor,
non-material consequential amendments to the Suffolk Local Nature
Recovery Strategy (LNRS) as a result of
the public consultation on the draft LNRS, prior to a further round
of consultation being undertaken on the amended draft. Any
amendments to the draft which are deemed by the aforementioned portfolio holder to be significant,
be presented to Cabinet for approval.
