Report seeking Cabinet Member approval to
spend capital funding available in the Data Operating System
capital budget 

Decision

Summary of Decision: The
Cabinet Member for Finance and Council Reform has approved the
release and expenditure of £0.770m from the Data Operating
System capital budget in 2024/25, and approved the release and
expenditure of £2.83m from the Data Operating System capital
budget in 2025/26 subject to approval of the Council’s
overall capital programme as part of the budget setting process for
2025/26. 
 
 
Reason for Decision: The Council
considers data to be an asset that is able to provide value way
beyond its primary use or purpose. To maximise the opportunities
this affords, it is essential that a strategic modern data platform
is implemented, supported by improved data governance and the
continued development of Environment and Proactive data product
lines.
